Here’s How to Do Shopping in Aspen Right

Gucci

Is a shopping spree ever complete without a visit to Gucci? We don’t think so, and luckily for you, Aspen has a vibrant Gucci outpost you can visit. Keep in mind that it only carries the women’s collection. However, men can still enjoy a variety of bags, belts, and, of course, Gucci Timbs.

Prada

The Prada store in Aspen is one-of-a-kind. It’s located in a gorgeous 19th–century building that used to be the BEST nightclub in town in the 1970s. It was so extravagant that it even had a skylight that used to open whenever it would snow! In the store, you’ll find all the latest collections, especially the slopes’ fashion so you can look your best while skiing.

Maison Ullens

Maison Ullens is one of the newest additions to the collection of stores in Aspen. They also have a boutique in Paris! In the Aspen one, you’ll find sophisticated clothes made from luxurious materials, including linen and silk. It’s the perfect fashion temple for women with active lifestyles that want to look elegant no matter the circumstance.

Kemo Sabe

If there’s one store you cannot miss while in Aspen, it’s Kemo Sabe. After all, cowboy culture is everywhere in Colorado, so why not immerse yourself in it a little more? At this store, you will find an array of cowboy-style apparel and accessories and even get a custom-made hat! We particularly love their selection of high-end leather boots that will make you wish you could travel back in time!

Explore Booksellers

Would you like to take a break from clothes? Explore Booksellers is a dream come true for bookworms in need of a good vacation read. The store is housed in a gorgeous Victorian home at the center of Aspen and offers a large selection of books and comfy reading nooks. Browse titles across a variety of genres, including business, history, travel, fiction, and children’s literature, as well as gifts, journals, and other accessories. You can even grab lunch or a hot cappuccino at the Pyramid Bistro upstairs!

Rest at Your Luxurious Aspen Home

Luna Lane balcony

After spending the day shopping in Aspen, you’ll be tired and need to rest your legs. Luckily for you, we know just the place for that. Aspen Signature Vacation Rentals offers the ideal home away from home for you and your loved ones. Experience our beautiful town and surrounding mountains in luxurious and high-end atmospheres. Whether you come and visit us in the summer or during the colder months, you won’t be able to resist these deliciously crafted beers. Read on to discover our three favorite Aspen breweries and add them to your bucket list!

The Best Aspen Breweries to Visit During Your Stay

 Aspen Brewing Company

One of the most famous places to get excellent beer is Aspen Brewing Company. This hotspot opened back in 2008 and was the first contemporary craft brewery in Aspen! Today, you can find barrel-aged brews like the Cougar (an exquisite aged-blonde) and unique seasonals that will make you want to come back again and again. Plus, their downtown taproom is open daily from 4 to 7 p.m. and often has live music.

Hops Culture

Another popular brewery in Aspen is Hops Culture. It’s a great place to go for cold beer and comfort food, especially if you’ve been exploring Aspen all day. Sit back, relax, and admire their amazing 30-line draft system. We highly recommend trying the food too, because everything is made from scratch. (One of our favorites is the Hops Cubano sandwich.) The brewery and gastropub is open daily from 11:30 a.m to 10 p.m.

Highlands Alehouse

Are you visiting Aspen during the winter to hit the slopes? What if we told you that you can enjoy some of the best beer in Aspen right on the mountain? That’s right — Highlands Alehouse has a prime location. You can take a break from the snow and sip on one of their 16 draft beers. The brewery also offers mouthwatering food to help you regain some energy before heading back to the slopes. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, including the pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and more.

Note: The Alehouse is only open during the winter, December 1st through April 14th. You can visit seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Only Annual Aspen Packing List You Need for Your Vacation

 Winter

Winter is the time to visit if you are a ski or snowboard enthusiast and wish to make the most of the world-renowned Aspen slopes. Snow is inevitable during that time, so your suitcase needs to include the winter essentials! Here are a few items you will need to include:

  • Outer layers, including waterproof jackets and pants for skiing
  • Breathable fleece and wool jackets
  • Gloves and mittens (both for skiing and off days)
  • Thick socks so your ski shoes don’t hurt (we recommend bringing them along when you go rent your equipment!)
  • Post-ski boots
  • Scarves and hats
  • Jeans and pants
  • Lip balm to prevent your lips from drying up.

Spring

Spring is a season when you can still enjoy the slopes but also some other outdoor activities. We highly recommend you keep an eye on the weather if you choose to come then, as a lot of activities will be dependent on it. Here is what your suitcase should include:

  • Similar winter items for skiing (see above)
  • Jeans and long pants
  • Hiking boots
  • Warm socks
  • Scarf and hat
  • Breathable jackets for mountain biking
  • Under layers for extra isolation

Summer

Summer is one of the most gorgeous seasons to explore Aspen, and it’s vastly different from the winter. Forget about skiing. In the summer, it’s all about hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, and more. Here’s our summer packing list:

  • Light fabrics, like cotton
  • T-shirts
  • A long-sleeved jacket in case it gets windy
  • Hiking boots
  • Socks
  • Sandals
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Shorts and jeans
  • Swimsuits

 Fall

Lastly, if you want to wait until the summer crowd has dissipated, fall is the time to visit Aspen. Much like summer, you can pack all the essentials mentioned above and focus on outdoor activities, specifically hiking. Here’s what your hiking packing list should also include:

  • Hiking boots
  • A reusable water canteen
  • Socks
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • A windbreaker
  • A light jacket
  • A light backpack

7 of the Top Reasons to Visit Aspen

There’s Something to Do Year-Round

You’ll never run out of things to do in Aspen, no matter when you visit! From skiing in the winter to hiking in the summer, the activities change based on the season. You can come back over and over again and never do the same thing twice!

The Skiing (And Après Ski) Can’t Be Beaten

It’s no secret that Aspen is known for its winter sports. With four mountains to choose from, there’s plenty of space for every snow enthusiast to spread out. You’ll rarely be waiting in line to go down the mountain like at other ski destinations. Plus, there are runs for every level of skier. Afterward, you’re invited to enjoy some of the best après ski options in the country.

It’s Exclusive

Aspen is known for its luxury– you get to choose the type of vacation you want. While there are casual dining options, there are also other restaurants that are so upscale they seem like they belong in a hub like New York City.

There’s a Small-Town Feel

Contrary to our point above, Aspen still emits a small-town feel. If you spend a lot of time downtown, it’s not out of the ordinary to run into the same people over and over again. You can easily explore on foot or by bike and get to know the area over a few days.

The Views Are Stunning

Gorgeous mountains mean gorgeous views! Whether you’re looking out over the slopes during the winter or have hiked to a scenic overlook in the summer, you won’t be disappointed. The views here are breathtaking. Local tip: Visit during the fall to see the mountain range light up in gorgeous fall colors!

You’ll Get Top-Notch Service Anywhere You Go

When you’re on vacation, you shouldn’t have to lift a finger. From our dedicated concierge team to the shops and restaurants in town, you’ll always find exceptional service.

The Events are Incredible

If it seems like there is always something going on in Aspen, it’s because there is! Countless incredible events and festivals come to town all throughout the year. From the Winter X Games to the famous Food & Wine Classic, there is something for everyone.

5 of the Best Places for Aspen Nightlife

1. The Snow Lodge

Have you ever heard of the iconic Surf Lodge? This East End hotspot decided to stake their claim in Aspen with the Snow Lodge! Similar to its Long Island counterpart, the Snow Lodge serves only locally sourced cuisine. However, they are most known for their outdoor deck and awesome concerts. They have even had The Chainsmokers show up for a surprise concert!

2. Escobar

If you’re looking for an energetic nightclub, head to Escobar. Here, you can expect table service, dancing, and plenty of drinks. The small, unique space is located underground– as soon as you walk in, you know that you’re somewhere special. Have our concierge book a table for you to complete the ultimate experience.

3. Eric’s Bar

For a casual night out on the town, make a stop at Eric’s Bar. Here, you can rent one of the five pool tables and two shuffleboard tables by the quarter-hour. Complete with cocktail service, you can easily spend an hour or two challenging your friends and family to game after game.

4. Cache Cache

Cache Cache is one of the many upscale restaurants we love to visit for drinks. Relax at the marble bar while you sip on some bubbles and take in the scene. We recommend coming here with your sweetheart for a romantic night out. It’s always fun for a girl’s getaway, too!

5. Belly Up Aspen

Belly Up Aspen is one of the most iconic Aspen nightlife spots on our list. Locals and visitors gather together to watch whatever band is gracing the stage. Even though the venue is on the smaller side, big names like deadmau5, Steve Aoki, and Lil Wayne have played here. Because it can only hold up to 450 people, you get an intimate concert every time.
