Mother’s Day Brunch: May 12th
Planning on getting away for the weekend and spending Mother’s Day in Aspen? Head to the Aspen Art Museum for brunch from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and enjoy sipping bottomless mimosa’s while taking in the breathtaking view of Aspen Mountain on the rooftop patio. Ride for the Pass: May 18th
On May 18th, it will be the 25th Annual Ride for the Pass! With around 400 attendees, the annual Ride for the Pass will have two different finish times with the first one only being 2 miles up Independence Pass finishing at Weller Lake and the second finish line is 10 miles up Independence Pass finishing at Independence Ghost Town.
Plenty of outdoor activities for Memorial Weekend in Aspen and Snowmass. Book your long weekend getaway at a discounted price and enjoy plenty of outdoor activities that our town has to offer! Go hiking up Smuggler or Hunter Creek, mountain bike with your friends and family, head to the river and go fly fishing on the Roaring Fork River, or head to the public Aspen Golf Course to play 9 or 18 holes!
Aspen Saturday Market: Starting June 15th – ALL SUMMER LONG
The Aspen Saturday Farmer’s market is back! Start your Saturday morning by going on a bike ride or a hike, then head to the Saturday market for local goodies right in the downtown Aspen core. Some of the all-time favorites include the kettle popcorn stand and the mouthwatering Louis Swiss Pastries!
Bluegrass Sunday’s on top of Aspen Mountain: Starting June 16th – ALL SUMMER LONG
Bluegrass musicians around Colorado perform on top of Aspen Mountain every Sunday from noon to 3 pm. Check out the 2019 Summer line-up right here.
Food & Wine Classic: June 14th – June 16th
Kick-off the Summer by going to the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado. Food enthusiasts, this Aspen and Snowmass event is for you. Enjoy a weekend full of tastings, celebrity chef panels, and cooking demonstrations at the Food & Wine Classic.
Aspen Summer Word’s Festival: June 16th – June 21st
Every year, some of the most well-known authors and teachers come to Aspen for a six-day celebration of literature at the Aspen Summer Words. Workshops, one-on-one’s and discussions will be held at the Gant in downtown Aspen, and evening events will take place including the Aspen Words Annual Benefit Dinner.
JAS Aspen Snowmass June Experience: June 20th – June 23rd
This is the 28th year that Jazz Aspen Snowmass has been around and this year, they’re switching things up for the JAS Aspen Snowmass June Experience! Head downtown to a handful of different venues including the Little Nell, St. Regis, Aspen Art Museum, Belly Up Aspen, Skye Gallery and Victoria’s Espresso. Check out the insane line-up and buy your tickets as soon as possible!
Aspen Idea’s Festival: June 20th to June 29th
The 2019 Aspen Idea’s Festival is held at the Aspen Institute and is one of the top gathering events across the globe with 450 presenters, 400 sessions, and 3,000 attendees.
Annual Sheriff’s Cup: June 23rd
The Annual Sheriff’s Cup will be returning for the fourth year in a row at the Aspen Municipal Golf Club and once again, will benefit Huts for Vets. This local non-profit organization caters to veterans around the country and provides them emotional and mental scars. Donations can be made at www.paypal.me/hutsforvets
Aspen Music Festival and School: June 27th to August 18th
2019 marks the 70th Anniversary for the Aspen Music Festival and School! Known to be the top classical music festival in the country, hundreds of talented young musicians and teachers play during the 8-week festival.
Fourth of July
Fourth of July in Aspen is always the biggest celebration of the Summer. Start celebrating Aspen’s old fashioned Fourth of July by going to the annual parade off of Main Street in Downtown Aspen followed by a community picnic, games and much more for all ages, then end up watching the drone fireworks by the end of the night that light up Aspen Mountain!
The Bash for the Buddies: July 5th
The top fundraiser of the year for the Buddy Program, The Bash for the Buddies! This year will mark the 20th annual fundraiser and will feature live music while having the theme of ‘Night of the Nile’ and you will want to dress accordingly for the theme, as people go ALL out.
Saturday Classical Music Atop Aspen Mountain: July 6th, July 13th, July 20th, July 27th, August 3rd and August 10th
Every Saturday starting on July 6th to August 10th, the Aspen Music Festival and School students will perform classical music on top of Aspen Mountain. Gather with friends and family on top of Aspen Mountain while enjoying the breathtaking views while listening to classical performances.
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet: Beautiful Decay: July 9th and July 19th
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet presents ‘Beautiful Decy’, with long-time collaborator Nicolo Fonte and design by Tony Award-winner Mimi Lien. Purchase your tickets for the 2019 Summer season before they sell out.
Audi Power of Four Trail Run: July 13th
The Audi Power of Four trail run has three courses you may choose. The extreme 50k course covers all four mountains starting from Aspen and ends in Snowmass Village, that traverses all four ski mountains. There are two other runs that are not as difficult, which is the 25k and the 10k course. Sign up and conquer any of these difficult courses!
Aspen Security Forum: July 17th to July 20th
The top level government officials gather at the Aspen Institute every year to discuss the key security issues. The departments of Homeland Security, Defense, State, Justice and the Treasury all gather for this three-day conference, the Aspen Security Forum. Join in and watch the discussion live!
Aspen Art’s Festival: July 20th and July 21st
The 17th Annual Aspen Arts Festival will be returning to the Rio Grande Park on July 20th and July 21st from 10am to 5pm! Take in the gorgeous views of Aspen Mountain while experiencing a variety of different artwork and grabbing a bite to eat from one of our local restaurants!
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet: Stars of American Ballet: August 3rd
Stars of American Ballet returns to Aspen with their breathtaking performance and will perform classics such as George Balanchine’s Tarantella, Jerome Robbins’ Andantino, Christopher Wheeldon’s, and some astounding ballroom dancing.
Ice Cream Social: August 3rd
The Ice Cream Social is a long-standing tradition in Aspen that started back in the mining era as a community gathering. The event that takes place a the Wheeler/Stallard Museum off of Bleeker Street in the West End neighborhood from 2 pm to 4 pm that features live music, ice cream bowls, spiked milkshakes, and a brief History lesson of our small mountain town.
T.J. Miller at Belly Up Aspen: August 7th
T.J. Miller is known for his role in the HBO series of Silicon Valley, as well as the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, Deadpool! The Belly Up Aspen will be hosting T.J. Miller, known for his comedy on August 7th at 7 pm and 10 pm. Purchase your tickets now before it becomes a sold out show!
Ducky Derby: August 10th
Every Summer, the Annual Ducky Derby will take place for the 28th year in a row and one of the lucky winners will win a grand prize of $10,000 or a special ducky that is worth a million dollars! Check out the schedule of events that will take place for the Ducky Derby on August 10th.
Stars Above Aspen Astronomy Night: August 12th
Stars Above Aspen is one of the new annual events that takes place on top of Ajax Mountain from 6 pm to 10:30 pm. Take the Silver Queen Gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain with friends and family for a fun-filled evening full of activities and games for all ages. No need to worry about food or drinks because the Sundeck restaurant will be open to serving!
Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Figaro: August 13th, August 15th and August 17th
One of the most well-known opera’s, Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Fiago is a comedy about pursuing love and lost in the palace of Count Almaviva. Join the fun with friends and family on Tuesday, August 13th at 7 pm at the Wheeler Opera House.
Aspen Mountain Film Festival: August 21st to August 25th
“Aspen Mountain Film Festival is a 5-day celebration of diverse mountain cultures, highlighting Aspen’s unique philosophy of body, mind, and spirit through documentary film, music, art, food, and stage with shared experiences of travel, adventure, environment, sustainability, community and extraordinary storytelling.”
JAS Labor Day Experience: Labor Day Weekend
What better way is there to enjoy Labor Day Weekend than at an outdoor music festival in Snowmass Village? Some of the top names in music play during the JAS Labor Day Experience.
Snowmass Balloon Festival: September 6th – September 8th
Every September, the sky fills with color as hot air balloons float among the clouds. During the Snowmass Balloon Festival, you can watch balloons race against each other over the Snowmass Town Park.
The Meeting: October 2nd – October 5th
The Meeting is split into two parts: a conference and a filmfest. The conference draws top thinkers, influencers, and entrepreneurs to network and discuss the world of content creation. The filmfest sets the tone for the upcoming ski season with ski and snowboard films!
Ullr Nights at Snowmass
Ullr Nights at Snowmass are fun for the whole family. Visit Elk Camp every Friday night for hot chocolate, s’mores, and outdoor winter activities.
12 Days of Aspen
Get into the holiday spirit with 12 Days of Aspen! From ice skating to caroling, each night brings something new to town. On the last day, December 31, make sure you watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks extravaganza over Aspen Mountain.
X Games Aspen
You’ll know when the X Games are in town. The air is buzzing with excitement as some of the top athletes compete in exciting winter sports. Not only can you watch the competitions, famous artists also take the stage.
Gay Ski Week

Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open
Join us for one of the last and longest running independent open competitions in the country. The Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open allows both professional and ametuer athletes to compete on the X Games Aspen Slopestyle and Superpipe and Big Air courses.
Aspen Laugh Festival
There’s no shortage of laughter at the Aspen Laugh Festival! Some of the top names in comedy gather in Aspen to perform every February.
